“Woman With Her Pal At Agnes Water Main Beach”
Oil on Belgian Linen Board
Double Framed
8″ x 10″ – size doesn’t include frame
I took photos of this moment at Agnes Water Main Beach during the Long Board Competition. It was a Sunday and as I looked at her I imagined the finished painting would look just like this. I didn’t know how I could make that happen as I was in that moment without the knowledge and skill and I knew that. I imagined it anyway.
This woman and her pal had just stopped me dead. Everything else disappeared. Although the beach and its waters were crowded, announcers and music blearing, people cheering, littlies racing across the sand, all that remained was the three of us. This woman and her pal brought me a peace. You don’t have to be in turmoil to feel profound peace. And I wasn’t. I was joyful. I don’t know who she is. I don’t know where she comes from. But everything about her was beautiful. Everything about her moment with her mate was right. And here it is.
