The Night The Reindeer Went On Strike

The reindeer, tired of his sh*t, went on strike midway through the night. They simply took him home and then proceeded to block off the sleigh from further use. Santa went in and sulked by the fire. Mrs Claus roused on him and marched him back outside. She then caught an unconvinced Platinum Penny (who was being a bit of a pig lately and needed a job) and then she and Santa (who was busy regaling her with all the reasons it wasn’t his fault and how he really didn’t know what Blitzen was talking about and how he was in fact the victim in this whole debacle) began hitching her to the fastest gig they had (Mrs Claus would conduct mediation with the reindeer later).

Karakia sniffed for snacks, and Marcus, who’s only concern was being able to see Mrs Claus, carefully positioned himself in the line of fire because that’s what he does best. Talisman stayed true to form and made to be a literal pain in the ar*e, although Mrs Claus thought Penny deserved it after her recent attitude. Hoss looked on with mild concern thinking she couldn’t picture this ending well, while Moleskin thought it was the most hilarious thing she’d seen in the last decade and whished she had lightly baked licorice to munch on while viewing the night’s sterling entertainment.

Santa and Platinum Penny got the job done, just. Someone spotted him in the breaking daylight trying to grab a coffee from a 5am coffee cart (it was already on the news by the time he made it home), and when he finally returned he found Mrs Claus in the kitchen with Prancer and crew, and he proceeded to gaily inform her he was really impressed with himself and his idea to use Penny and that he did a really great job and she ought to be super proud of him. Comet temporarily choked on some beet pulp pallets.
