This was a scene I witnessed while travelling through Wales. With dive research I found Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways and this driver is Sam Mitchell. The locomotive is Hugh Napier, an 0-4OST Hunslet quarry tank (855 of 1904) which worked at Penrhyn Quarries, where it was part of the "Large Quarry" class. I happened to drive through there when they were having a 'Bygone' festival apparently. Another artist was going to hitch her horse to the wagon they were carrying that day. It looks like I missed the equine addition by a day . Just a day early. Never mind. Next year when we fly over again I'll be sure to see it all. It was such a lovely moment in time and I enjoyed watching the changing of the staff.
I hope you like this piece as much as I do. ❤️
